Protein Fire

Description

Cause
Under long exposure to low-level heat, animal fat and protein emit a fine mist which is almost transparent and, consequently, almost invisible. The rancid odor is often the most obsrvsble fact.

Treatment
All carpets and rugs affected by protein fire have to be first cleaned completely using standard cleaning solutions. It is advisable to consult a reputed professional cleaner/restorer.
